IRM Steam Into Fall 2026

A short visit today. Today I made a short visit out to the Illinois Railway Museum to see Shay 5 on it's final weekend of operating for the 2026 season for their "Steam Into Fall" event. Given that it's been three years since I last attended this event, so I thought that since the weather was nice, I should head out to see it. Although I did stay for a short time as I had gotten word that a CPKC 646 was making it's way South with an ex-MILW Geep (now in KCS Gray Ghost) leading the way, so I made my way to Rondout after I got the shots I wanted at IRM. All in all, not a bad day to be out trackside at IRM or on the CPKC and a good way to close out the steam season at IRM this year. Enjoy! Trains Operating at IRM: J.
