Canada is planning one of the most ambitious transportation projects in its history — a high-speed railway that could cost an astonishing **$113 BILLION CAD**.
Known as **ALTO High-Speed Rail**, this proposed megaproject would connect Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, and Québec City through approximately 1,000 kilometres of dedicated electric railway, with trains designed to travel at speeds of 300 km/h or more.
But building Canada's first true high-speed rail network won't be easy.
A new report from Canada's Parliamentary Budget Officer estimates that construction could cost between **C$75 billion and C$113 billion**, raising major questions about engineering challenges, construction costs, and the future of transportation in Canada.
In this documentary, we explore Canada's massive high-speed railway proposal, the technology behind it, the challenges of building through difficult terrain, and whether this historic investment could transform Canadian travel forever.
🚄 Could ALTO become Canada's greatest transportation achievement — or one of its most expensive infrastructure gambles?
