‪@bluehoundsjazz‬ HOT JAZZ 1920s from New Orleans 🎺 Step inside a smoky speakeasy and let the brass, piano and rhythm carry you back to the golden age of early jazz. This 80+ minute Blue Hounds Jazz session is inspired by the hot jazz sound of 1920s New Orleans: energetic trumpet and cornet lines, piano, early jazz rhythms, blues, ragtime influences and the intimate atmosphere of a late-night speakeasy. Perfect background music for relaxing, cooking, eating, drinking, studying, focusing, working or simply enjoying a vintage jazz atmosphere. 🎺 A LITTLE HISTORY New Orleans was one of the crucial birthplaces of jazz. The music grew from a rich mixture of ragtime, blues, brass-band traditions and the musical cultures of the city. Jelly Roll Morton, the New Orleans pianist, composer and bandleader, became one of the most important early figures in jazz. His recordings with the Red Hot Peppers in the 1920s helped define the sophisticated ensemble sound associated with early New Orleans jazz. His 1926 recording Black Bottom Stomp is now part of the U.S. National Recording Registry. Louis Armstrong, born in New Orleans, transformed early jazz through his extraordinary trumpet playing and improvisation. His Hot Five and Hot Seven recordings from 1925–1928 became some of the most influential recordings in the history of jazz. Sidney Bechet, another major New Orleans musician, helped establish the expressive voice of the soprano saxophone in early jazz. Alongside musicians such as Morton and Armstrong, he belongs to the generation that shaped the sound of early New Orleans jazz. This Blue Hounds Jazz session is an original musical journey inspired by the atmosphere, instrumentation and spirit of early hot jazz. The track titles and music are part of the Blue Hounds Jazz universe and are not historical recordings by the musicians mentioned above. 🐾 Welcome to the Blue Hounds Speakeasy. 🎧 Put on your headphones, turn down the lights and let the night begin. 🎷TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Stomp of the Speakeasy 05:26 The Blue Room 10:52 New Orleans Stomp 1 16:20 New Orleans Stomp 2 21:48 The Velvet Cornet 27:17 Smoke, Jazz & Bourbon 32:45 Study at the Speakeasy 38:12 Bootlegger's Stomp 42:42 Study at the Speakeasy 2 48:10 Soprano Sax in New Orleans 53:37 Study at the Speakeasy 3 59:02 Dancing Through the Smoke 1:04:31 Jelly Roll's Midnight Piano 1:09:59 Blue Notes & Red Velvet 1:15:26 The Last Table at Midnight 1:20:52 Good Night, Blue Hounds #HotJazz #NewOrleansJazz #1920sJazz #SpeakeasyJazz #JazzMusic #BlueHoundsJazz #VintageJazz #JazzForRelaxing #CookingMusic #StudyMusic
