Dr Jacqueline Maybin from The University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian presents the keynote presentation at the 2026 WIRF Scientific Dialogue on the topic ‘Heavy Menstrual Bleeding’. Dr Jacqueline Maybin is a Reader and Honorary Consultant Gynaecologist at the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian. A leading UK clinician scientist with an eminent track record in menstrual and reproductive health research, Dr Maybin runs a specialist menstrual disorders service offering both medical and surgical treatments. Her research team focuses on developing better preventative and therapeutic strategies for problematic menstrual bleeding. Dr Maybin currently serves as a Program Director at Wellcome Leap, where she leads the Missed Vital Sign program. This program brings together cross-disciplinary teams with disruptive approaches to transform how abnormal menstrual bleeding is identified, diagnosed and treated.
