Day 9 — The Campsite That Wasn't

The route left the Tyrrhenian coastline early, climbing through Calabria's inland spine before returning toward Tropea under clear skies and warm Mediterranean air. After days of rain, detours and changing plans, the riding finally became effortless: dry asphalt, flowing mountain roads and endless southern landscapes. The objective was simple: reach the coast and spend the night camping. Three campsites later, reality had other ideas. Closed. Abandoned. No longer a campsite at all. The expedition adapted once again, turning inland to Taurianova, where Ciclari B&B became the unexpected overnight stop.
