The Watchers and the Nephilim: Where the Story Really Comes From

Most of what people "know" about the Watchers and the Nephilim is not in the Bible. The oath on Mount Hermon. Semjaza. The forbidden knowledge — metallurgy, astrology, the dark arts. The two hundred angels who descended. The archangel commissions against Azazel and the giants. Enoch's intercession before the heavenly throne. Almost all of it comes from the Book of Enoch — an ancient Jewish text that is scripture in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, quoted in the New Testament letter of Jude, and absent from the Old Testament of almost every other tradition. This video walks the full story — the descent, the forbidden knowledge, the giants, the heavenly council, the flood and the rainbow — while keeping a running ledger of four categories: what Genesis actually says (four verses), what the Book of Enoch adds (the vast majority of the story), what later tradition elaborated, and what is pure cinematic invention.
