When Yeshua walked with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, Luke tells us something remarkable about the way He understood the Hebrew Scriptures: “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures” (Luke 24:27). Yeshua did not begin with Matthew, Romans, or Revelation. Those books had not yet been written. He began with Moses. If we take His words seriously, then somewhere within the Torah we should expect to find patterns, promises, shadows, and themes that point toward Yeshua and His restorative work.
