Scalloped Eggs- Recipe From 1904: Presidential Cookbook:
12 hard boiled eggs, sliced
2 cups breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons butter, diced
1 cup milk
Salt, pepper and paprika to taste
1. Butter or grease a 9-inch ceramic pie pan.
2. Heat the oven to 350F.
3. Put about 1/2 cup of bread crumbs in the bottom of the pie pan. Top with a layer of sliced eggs. Sprinkle with more breadcrumbs, pieces of butter and salt, pepper and paprika. Keep layering until you’ve used up the egg slices. Sprinkle the top with bread crumbs & more seasonings.
4. Pour the cup of milk evenly over the mixture. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Enjoy!
This is great served with a side of fruit for breakfast or a light dinner. 😁
