“YOU’RE A LIAR!” Ivan Kyeyune Clashes With PM Nabbanja Over Empty Promises

A heated exchange unfolded in the Uganda Parliament as Nakasongola MP Ivan Kyeyune confronted Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja over government promises to upgrade local health facilities and improve infrastructure. Kyeyune accused the government of making empty promises, particularly over the proposed elevation of a health centre into a fully-fledged hospital. The exchange intensified when the MP called the Prime Minister a “liar”, prompting the Speaker to caution against using the word in the parliamentary record. Prime Minister Nabbanja defended the government's record, pointing to previous interventions in Nakasongola and explaining that procedures for upgrading health facilities are still ongoing.
