Eight common IELTS Speaking Part 3 discussion questions, about cities and advertising, each answered twice: a Band 7 answer and a Band 9 answer, side by side and in the same voice, so the only difference is the English. After each pair, a teacher points out exactly what lifts the answer to Band 9, and the phrases light up on screen as he says them. How to practise with this video 1. Pause after each question and answer it yourself, out loud, for about 30 seconds. 2. Compare your answer with the Band 7 one: did you give a reason, an example and the other side? 3. Take one gold phrase from each Band 9 answer and use it in your own answer. 4. Shadow the Band 9 answers: play one, pause, and say it back at the same pace. Chapters 0:00 Question 1: Cities 1:38 Question 2: Getting to work 3:08 Question 3: City centres 4:37 Question 4: A city without cars 6:03 Question 5: Advertising 7:37 Question 6: Who adverts reach 8:58 Question 7: Children and adverts 10:21 Question 8: The future of advertising What each question teaches 1. Cities: one main reason, fully developed, beats a list 2. Getting to work: then and now: used to, these days, the present perfect 3. City centres: natural signposts, then a real conclusion 4. A city without cars: imagining: would, could, might, not will 5. Advertising: a clear view, then a fair point on the other side 6. Who adverts reach: compare with contrast words and avoid generalising 7. Children and adverts: solutions with reasons, ranked 8. The future of advertising: predict with degrees of certainty Message us on WhatsApp: 01317749265 Follow BayRen: Facebook:   / bayrenedu   TikTok:   / bayren_education   Instagram:   / bayrenedu   These are original practice questions and answers written by BayRen in the IELTS format.
