Toy Story 5 Proves Toy Story Has Run Out of Stories

Toy Story 5 was a good movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but by the time the credits rolled I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd already seen this exact character journey before. After digging into it, I realized that Jessie in Toy Story 5 goes through nearly the exact same emotional arc that Woody went through back in Toy Story 2. The plots are different, the themes surrounding technology and growing up are new, but the emotional destination is almost identical. In this video I break down the similarities between Jessie and Woody, why Toy Story 5 may have revealed the franchise's biggest problem, and why Pixar may simply be running out of stories to tell with these characters. I also talk about why Toy Story 4 may have been more important than people give it credit for and why the future of Toy Story might require Pixar to finally move on from Andy's toys. Is Toy Story 5 repeating Toy Story 2? Has Toy Story reached the end of these characters' journeys? And what does the future of Pixar's biggest franchise actually look like? #ToyStory5 #ToyStory #Pixar #DisneyPixar #Woody #Jessie #BuzzLightyear #ToyStory2 #ToyStory4 #Disney #Animation #PixarMovies
