Rachael Haynes is the co-founder of Big Picture Lab. As a child, Rachael Haynes wanted to be a filmmaker, a pilot or an organizational psychologist. She became a film collector and a flight enthusiast instead, and has spent her whole career in workplace health, from health-related benefits and support services to wellbeing strategy and organizational culture. She founded the C3 Workplace Health Movement, led programmes at the construction mental health charity Mates in Mind, directed people experience consulting at Gallagher, and ran wellbeing consultancy and then wellbeing strategy at the British Safety Council. She holds an MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing from the University of Nottingham. She and her business partner Sophie, who have worked together for nine years, set up Big Picture Lab after a conversation over a glass of wine about a year ago, to bring organizational culture, organizational development and wellbeing strategy together. In this conversation, Rachael explains why she avoids talking about wellbeing even though she builds wellbeing strategies, why the things that cause stress at work are the same things that hold performance back, and why employees don't go home and tell their families they love their job for the wellness benefits. Expect to learn the problems companies usually bring her, from an us-and-them split between leaders and the front line to falling customer service numbers, why most wellbeing approaches are not linked to business priorities, what to do when an engagement survey comes back with 30 or 40 issues and the temptation is to bury it, why the simplest changes often make the biggest difference, how she and Sophie replay a company's story so its leaders find the answer themselves, where psychosocial risk and the legal duty of care come in, and much more… - 0:00 Cold open 0:34 Welcome 0:46 Filmmaker, Pilot Or Psychologist 2:21 Big Picture Lab Began Over A Glass Of Wine 3:28 The Biggest Misconception About Wellbeing 5:37 Stress And Performance, Two Sides Of One Coin 9:14 Nobody Loves A Job For The Wellness Benefits 12:38 What To Do With Engagement Survey Results 16:20 How To Paint The Picture For Leaders 19:05 Why Clients Must Find The Answer Themselves 21:25 Where To Find Rachael Haynes - 🔗 Guest & Resources Connect with Rachael Haynes:   / rachaelhaynes573   Website: https://bigpicturelab.co.uk - Get in touch in the comments below or head to...
