SONG: I Did Not Sign Up For This

“I Did Not Sign Up for This!” is a slow, encouraging gospel declaration inspired by James 1:2-4 - a reminder that even the trials we never chose can become the very places where God develops endurance, strengthens faith, and matures us. "“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work…” There are seasons when the most truthful thing we can say is: “God, I did not sign up for this!” I didn’t ask for the pressure. I didn’t choose the waiting. I didn’t plan for the disappointment, the struggle, or the tears. But James teaches us that the testing of our faith produces perseverance, and that perseverance must be allowed to finish its work so that we may become mature and complete. This song does not pretend that trials feel good. Instead, it gives voice to the tension between what we are experiencing and what we believe: I did not sign up for this… but I’m still going to trust God. The process may be uncomfortable, but it is not necessarily wasted. The pressure may be producing something. The waiting may be teaching something. The testing may be strengthening something. So when you are tempted to leave the process too soon, remember: Let patience work. Let endurance develop. Let God finish what He is doing in you. You may not have signed up for this, but God can still use "this". If this song speaks to the season you are walking through, share it with someone who needs the encouragement to stay in the process and let patience work. #iDidNotSignUpForThis #James1 #CountItAllJoy #LetPatienceWork #GospelMusic #GospelChoir #ChristianMusic #FaithThroughTrials #TrustGod #Perseverance #Encouragement #LadyAngelia #LAEMusic
