🧠 Hemiplegia Recovery Exercises – Part 3 | Stroke Rehabilitation
Recovery after a stroke requires structured, progressive and goal-oriented rehabilitation. In this video, Dr. Dibya Prakash (PT) explains and demonstrates different physiotherapy exercises for a real hemiplegia patient.
🏃 Exercises and rehabilitation activities covered:
✅ Lower-limb strengthening and coordination exercises
✅ Supported standing and weight-bearing activities
✅ Stationary cycling for lower-limb movement and endurance
✅ Sit-to-stand training for functional mobility
✅ Gait training to improve walking ability
✅ Balance training to improve postural control and stability
✅ Shoulder mobility exercises using a T-pulley
🎯 Rehabilitation goals:
Improve voluntary movement and muscle control
Develop strength, coordination and balance
Practice functional activities required for daily life
Improve walking ability and independence
Maintain appropriate shoulder mobility and function
💡 Important: Every stroke patient has different rehabilitation needs. Exercises, assistance and progression should be based on individual assessment, balance, muscle tone, shoulder condition and medical stability. Standing, cycling and gait training require appropriate supervision when fall risk is present. T-pulley exercises should be performed only when suitable for the patient's shoulder condition and movement control.
Recovery can continue beyond the first six months with consistent, individualized rehabilitation.
