Welcome to another episode on my channel!
A long autumn walk around Grabownica Pond, the largest pond of the Stawno complex in the Barycz Valley near Milicz, Poland. The trail starts in the village of Grabownica and leads through a sunny autumn forest full of fallen trees, past the 19th-century Dragoński weir, a piece of water infrastructure of the Barycz Valley fish ponds (a narrow-gauge railway station once stood nearby, running from 1896 to 1991).
Along the way I meet a young deer jumping down the path (1:07, heavily zoomed in, since my camera is not exactly a telephoto lens). Then, near the end, I miss a turn and end up walking almost 2 km along an overgrown flood embankment as dusk and rain close in. I reach a shelter for a short break, coffee and a snack, and finish the last kilometre in the dark with a flashlight, getting back to the car just as the rain starts. About 10 km in total.
No talking, just footsteps, the sound of the forest and a bit of an adventure.
If you like slow, quiet walks, subscribe for more dawn, dusk and night walks.
