Journal entry — the voice inside my head. I've spent a lot of my life arguing with someone nobody else can hear. Me. My inner monologue remembers everything. The embarrassing moments. The failures. The people who didn't choose me. The things I wish I had done differently. For a long time, I thought the voice inside my head hated me. It criticized me when I failed. Compared me when I fell behind. Reminded me of things everyone else had probably forgotten. But growing up has made those conversations sound a little different. The same voice that once told me I wasn't good enough sometimes tells me to keep going now. To get back up. To try again. And I've started wondering if the voice never really changed on its own. Maybe I did. Maybe learning how to speak to yourself is part of growing up too. I still don't have all the answers. Neither does he.
