🧵🌈 📿 Little Minds, Big Learning! 📿 🌈🧵 What a fantastic threading experience today on our deck in the fresh air! 🌿 Children threaded cylinder-shaped pasta and empty thread rolls onto shoelaces and colourful pipe cleaners, creating their own beautiful necklaces and bracelets. 💕📿 Our younger learner explored in his own way—filling and dumping transparent containers with pasta and pulling and pushing fabric strings through narrow-mouth transparent containers.😍 All children remained deeply engaged in this repetitive process for more than an hour! What was especially wonderful was watching our baby observe the older children and eventually become curious about threading pasta onto pipe cleaners himself. 👏👏 This is such a beautiful example of children learning from one another through observation, curiosity and imitation. 💖 🧠🖐️ Benefits of Today’s Open-ended Threading Experience 🧵🌈 📿 This open-ended experience supported fine-motor development, hand-eye coordination, pincer grasp, bilateral coordination and concentration as children manipulated pasta, thread rolls, shoelaces and pipe cleaners. 🖐️🧵 The repetitive filling, dumping, pulling, pushing and threading processes provided valuable sensory exploration while strengthening problem-solving and persistence. Children also had opportunities to explore patterns, colours, shapes, size and cause-and-effect naturally through their play. 🔴🟡🔵 The outdoor setting added fresh-air sensory experiences and space for focused exploration, while observing friends encouraged social learning, confidence and new ideas. 🌿👀💡 Most importantly, the children followed their own interests and remained engaged for an extended period—showing us that when learning is meaningful and hands-on, curiosity can lead the way! 👏👏🤝
