🌙📖📚 Book-Inspired Learning: Five Black Cats! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ Inspired by the book Five Black Cats, our little learners created their own moonlit cat scenes! Children rubbed glue onto black paper, placed a white paper moon, and counted up to five black cats as they positioned them around and on the moon. Along the way, they explored colour names, the moon, cats, and counting in a fun, hands-on way. Our two youngest learners were especially engaged in the glue exploration—discovering that when glue feels sticky, paper can stick to the page and the little cats can stick to their hands too! 🖐️😍 They repeated the process again and again, observing the cause-and-effect of rubbing, sticking, and lifting. 👏👏👏 🧠📖📚 Benefits of Today’s Book-Inspired Learning! 🌙🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🌙 This open-ended experience supported early literacy, numeracy, fine-motor development, sensory exploration, and cognitive learning. 📚🔢 Children practised one-to-one counting while placing the five cats, strengthened hand and finger muscles through rubbing, pressing, and sticking, and developed colour and object recognition. The younger learners’ repeated glue exploration encouraged curiosity, experimentation, observation, and cause-and-effect thinking—building confidence as they discovered “What happens when I touch, rub, stick, and lift?” 🖐️👀💡
