Divine protection and preservation begin with trusting God. Apostle Joshua Selman teaches on faith, Scripture and bringing your household before God in this Koinonia service.
How do you pray for your family when you’re aware of dangers you cannot control? This teaching explores what Scripture says about preservation and gives believers a framework for praying with understanding. The opening passages include Psalm 79:11 and 2 Timothy 4:18, directing attention to God’s ability to preserve His people.
Apostle Joshua Selman explains preservation as maintaining something in its intended state, protecting it from corruption and keeping it alive so that it can continue to bear fruit. The discussion extends beyond surviving a particular threat to considering the life, character and purpose God has entrusted to a believer. It invites listeners to think about what they want to protect and sustain within their households.
The central teaching presents five themes associated with preservation. It begins with the new birth and righteousness received through faith in Jesus Christ, then turns to walking by faith in God. The third theme is an encounter with light through God’s Word. The message considers how understanding affects the way believers respond to spiritual matters and the importance of finding a biblical foundation for what they believe.
The fourth theme is prophetic ministry, followed by the anointing as the fifth. Apostle Joshua Selman draws on Psalm 105 and later explains the place of anointing oil in the service. The recording includes prayer, an invitation to receive Christ and extended worship. Its personal ministry and declarations form part of the congregation’s response to the teaching.
As you watch, reflect on these questions:
• What do the Scripture passages teach me about trusting God with my household?
• What am I praying to preserve in our spiritual life, relationships and purpose?
• Which belief about protection do I need to examine more closely through Scripture?
• How can I bring specific concerns before God with faith and understanding?
• What would it look like for our household to make time for prayer together?
Use the chapters to begin with the biblical foundations before following the prayer sections. Write down the names of those you are praying for and the concerns you want to bring before God. You can revisit the passages together as a family and allow each person to name what is on their heart.
