Thine Eyes Shall See the King | Isaiah 33:17–24 | Sunday Evening | October 4, 2026

In Isaiah 33, the prophet moves from the immediate threat of Assyria and the instability facing Judah to a glorious prophetic vision of the coming King and His kingdom. “Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty...” (Isaiah 33:17) The passage looks beyond the immediate historical circumstances of Isaiah's day to the future restoration of Zion, the righteous reign of the LORD, and the security and blessing that will characterize His kingdom. The LORD will be their Judge, their Lawgiver, and their King. The enemy will be gone, Jerusalem will be established in peace, and the effects of sin will no longer remain as they do today. As we consider this prophetic promise, we are reminded that our present circumstances are not the end of the story. The King is coming, His promises are sure, and His purposes will be fulfilled. Our hope is not merely in what the King will do, but in the King Himself.
