The Academy of Pain Physiatrists presents its 28th Webinar on an important and often under-recognized aspect of chronic pain management: the role of hormonal assessment in patients with persistent pain. Chronic pain is not always explained by musculoskeletal or neurological factors alone. Alterations involving the hypothalamic–pituitary axis, thyroid function, adrenal hormones, metabolic hormones, and sex hormones may influence pain perception, fatigue, mood, sleep, muscle function, recovery, and overall quality of life.
