How To Get A Wrestler Over In TEW IX Why isn't your wrestler getting over? You've given them wins. You've put them on your shows. Maybe they've even had some great matches — but their Popularity still isn't moving the way you expected. In this episode of the TEW IX Official Handbook Explained series, we're breaking down how getting a wrestler over actually works in Total Extreme Wrestling IX. Rather than simply telling you to "push them harder", we're looking at what the TEW IX Official Handbook actually tells us about building a wrestler's Popularity — and combining that with our own testing and observations from the game. We'll look at: 📈 Popularity & how it grows 🔥 Momentum and its effect on Popularity growth 🏆 Why winning isn't always enough ⭐ Why segment quality matters 🎯 How booking context affects your results ⚠️ Selfish Performer & the dangers of dominant booking 👥 Audience exposure and getting a rub from a bigger audience 📺 Why your company size matters 🌎 Viewers and regional Popularity growth 🚫 Natural Growth Limits 📊 Popularity floors and the 70% rule 😴 Audience Apathy and keeping workers interesting 🎤 Charisma vs Microphone and choosing the right angle roles 💪 Playing to your worker's actual strengths 🧩 Why there isn't a magic formula for getting someone over We also look at some of our own TEW IX testing, including a particularly interesting example where Primus Allen won a match dominantly but actually LOST Popularity, while another match saw one wrestler gain Popularity and his opponent lose it despite both being involved in the same 77-rated segment. The big takeaway? Getting a wrestler over isn't simply about winning matches. It's about creating the right conditions for that wrestler to grow. And as always, we're going to be very careful to separate what the TEW IX Handbook actually confirms, what we've directly observed in testing, and what we simply don't know yet. 📖 TEW IX Official Handbook Explained This is an ongoing series where we're working through the TEW IX Official Handbook mechanic by mechanic, explaining what the game is actually doing underneath the menus rather than simply telling you which buttons to press.
