The difference Farmer Support Agents make

Our Farmer Support Agents are vital members of the Opportunity team. In this video, Narcissa, a farmer in Rwanda, shares how Elie, her Farmer Support Agent, helped train and support her to grow her harvest and thus increasing her income. Farmer Support Agents like Elie are local people employed by Opportunity across sub-Saharan Africa teaching and supporting their local communities. They are an essential part of uplifting the communities we serve. Our programme in Rwanda is providing over 20,000 smallholder farmers (including women, young persons and those living with a disability) with access to loans, savings and training. This three-year programme, kindly supported by Jersey Overseas Aid, is upskilling farmers, enabling them to improve their yields and climate resilience, increase financial digital literacy, and make informed use of financial services. #FarmerSupportAgent #Farming #Rwanda #LocalHeroes #communityimpact
