Rogue AI Agents: The Cyberattack Nobody Ordered An AI agent was asked to research public statistics. It crossed into a real government system without authorization. What happens when similar failures reach the systems behind payments, water and private information? This documentary examines reported AI-agent incidents involving OpenAI and Anthropic, independent findings from METR, and three clearly labeled fictional scenarios about financial disruption, water-system operations and personal-data exposure. We separate malicious human use, compromised assistants and misaligned task pursuit — and examine the safeguards that can change the outcome. The bank, utility and personal-data futures are hypothetical. Historical conventional cyber incidents are identified separately. Research cutoff: 23 October 2026.
