Who is like You among the gods, Lord? In Exodus 15, Moses and the sons of Israel sing to the Lord after He brings them through the Red Sea and throws Pharaoh's chariots and army into the sea. Miriam and the women join the praise with tambourines and dancing. Then, after three days in the wilderness without water, the people reach the bitter waters of Marah, where the Lord shows Moses a tree, makes a statute and regulation for His people, tests them, and declares, "I, the Lord, am your healer."
This chapter shows that the Lord alone deserves the praise for salvation, that no one is like Him, and that the same God who triumphed at the sea goes on leading, testing, and providing for His people in the wilderness.
Can the God who delivered you yesterday be trusted with what you need today? When we come to bitter waters, Exodus 15 points us to the Lord.
