Bicycling Ely Iowa's Hoover Nature Trail (aka Cedar Valley Nature Trail) (May 5, 2023)

Our second day of 6 days of riding in Northeast Iowa was a ride starting in Ely Iowa and taking the Hoover Nature Trail south out of town to Solon Iowa and then back up through Ely to Cedar Rapids and then back to Ely. It was a great day weather wise and we saw many folks riding the trail between Cedar Rapids and Solon. The Hoover Nature Trail is a work in progress and the section between 3 miles north of Ely south to Solon is a beautiful new trail. Eventually, it is supposed to be 27 miles of paved trail. Ely made a good midpoint to do our out-and-back ride in both directions and had the benefit of having a wonderful place to enjoy a late lunch, Odie's Bar & Grill.
