7 minutes of the full story. I went into this race chasing a sub 4:30, but getting ill in race week threw a spanner into the works. Not something I could control, but something I had to deal with. The result wasn’t what I wanted. 4:55:16. It would be easy to look at the time and see the 25 minutes I missed. But I’d rather look at everything it took to get to that start line, make the best decisions I could on the day, and keep moving when things weren’t going to plan. The goal didn’t happen this time.
