Delivery trip of a Koopman 48 from Torshavn to Dublin. Part 1 Torshavn to the Isle of Rum.

I had the great privilege of being part of this delivery trip, conducted by Yachtskipper.eu. The owner of Ava, a 15 metre long aluminium Cutter, skippered her from Hamburg to Norway, sailing as far north as Spitzbergen, in the Svalbard archipelago. From there he continued with his crew to Reykjavik, Iceland. On the journey home, Christian encountered rapidly deteriorating weather and had to cut the trip short, sailing to Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. Due to autumn low pressure systems, timing and lack of crew, Christian decided to contact “Yachtskipper.eu” for support for the remaining journey to Dublin. The challenge was to find sufficient long weather windows between the low pressure systems with very strong winds. Skipper Thomas from Yachtskipper.eu kindly asked me to join them as crew. This was an offer of immense interest to which I agreed immediately, given the very capable yacht in a challenging part of the North Atlantic in the autumn.
