JINGU GAIEN 1985. One autumn between white lines and golden leaves, told in ten original Japanese city pop songs — from a net measured at eight in the morning to a forehand ringing into a blue sky. 🌃 Tonight's story: She is twenty-five and in her second year as an apprentice tennis coach in the Jingu Gaien. In the autumn she is first trusted with a junior class alone, and it is the golden ginkgo avenue that teaches her what to say to a pupil crying over a lost match. Inside the white lines and outside them, she learns, both are places where people grow. A note on this scene: every detail belongs to 1985. The four rows of ginkgo trees in the Gaien were planted in 1926, and the memorial picture gallery at the end of the vista was completed the same year. The tennis courts belong to a park of sport laid out in the Taisho era. No club, no tournament and no player is named. 00:00:00 Jingu Gaien 1985 (神宮外苑1985) 00:03:58 The Ginkgo Gatherer (銀杏拾いの老人) 00:07:23 The Coaching Path (コーチ見習いの道) 00:10:29 Golden Avenue (金色の並木道) 00:13:47 Rally After Rally (ラリーの午後) 00:17:05 Autumn on the Baseline (ベースラインの秋) 00:20:22 The Head Coach's Advice (ヘッドコーチの助言) 00:23:56 Ask the Ginkgo Trees (銀杏並木に訊く) 00:27:30 Night Courts in Silence (夜の無人コート) 00:30:32 Lines and Leaves (白線と落葉) 00:33:40 Jingu Gaien 1985 (神宮外苑1985) 00:37:39 The Ginkgo Gatherer (銀杏拾いの老人) 00:41:04 The Coaching Path (コーチ見習いの道) 00:44:10 Golden Avenue (金色の並木道) 00:47:28 Rally After Rally (ラリーの午後) 00:50:46 Autumn on the Baseline (ベースラインの秋) 00:54:03 The Head Coach's Advice (ヘッドコーチの助言) 00:57:37 Ask the Ginkgo Trees (銀杏並木に訊く) 01:01:11 Night Courts in Silence (夜の無人コート) 01:04:13 Lines and Leaves (白線と落葉) (total 67m21s) All songs are original works — our own stories, lyrics and music, created with the help of AI, inspired by the Japanese city pop of the 1980s.
