Australia's Feral Cats Are Becoming a New Species. The Skulls Already Show It.

I examine a feral cat skull from west of Emerald, Queensland, and investigate whether Australia’s feral cats are becoming a new species. I compare the extraordinary claim of a 35-kilogram cat with the heaviest feral cat recorded in a published Australian study-6.7 kilograms-then put the skull measurements and genetic evidence to the test. I’ll show what the skulls already reveal, what they cannot prove, and why unusual size alone is not enough to establish a new species. From Queensland to New South Wales, I separate outback stories from the evidence. #FeralCats #AustralianWildlife #Evolution #Genetics #SkullScience #WildlifeResearch
