On July 4th, 2026, the last casino in Primm, Nevada shut its doors. The truck stop and the famous lottery store closed with it, and more than 300 workers got layoff notices. Seventeen days later, the casino reopened under the same family that lost Primm in bankruptcy.
So is Primm really back? In this video, we trace the town at the California state line from a bootlegger’s gas station to the Desperado roller coaster. We cover the sales and the 2009 bankruptcy, the tribal casinos that drained its customers, and the fight over rent that shut it down. Then we look at the five reasons the comeback may not last.
Watch to the end for the verdict.
