LIVE: Nor’easter Slams Jersey Shore | Flooding, High Winds & Huge Surf in NJ

LIVE from the Jersey Shore — Sunday, September 27, 2026. Jersey Shore Fire Response is continuing live coverage across Monmouth and Ocean counties following a powerful nor’easter that brought significant coastal flooding, damaging winds, dangerous surf and widespread power outages to New Jersey. The National Weather Service continues a High Wind Warning until noon for Eastern Monmouth and Coastal Ocean counties, with north winds of 20–30 mph and gusts potentially reaching 50–60 mph. A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 PM, with 1–2 feet of inundation possible above ground level in low-lying coastal and tidal areas. High surf and dangerous rip currents remain concerns through this evening. Saturday’s storm already produced significant flooding along the Jersey Shore, including flooded and impassable roads in communities such as Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach and Long Branch. More than 10,000 JCP&L customers remained without power Sunday morning, after the utility reported restoring more than 60,000 customers.
