Set in contemporary post-war London, Noose is the story of black marketItalian black market racketeer and Soho nightclub owner and his cohorts who face attempts to bring them to justice by an American fashion journalist, her ex-commando fiancé and a gang of honest toughs from a local gym. The normally gentlemanly and urbane Nigel Patrick is cast as a cockney spiv. Adapted from a successful stage play by Richard Llewellyn, Noose forms part of the 'spiv cycle' of a dozen or so British films produced between 1945-50. Described as a 'black market comedy thriller’.
