Midnight Ramen x3 — The Guilty Pleasure Side of Our Japan Trip

Part of our Nara → Osaka → Shiga → Kyoto → Kobe family trip — the side of it nobody saw. Papa Time. While the family slept, I snuck out three nights of the trip chasing one thing: ramen. Night 1 in Osaka: charred pork jowl ramen, swimming in a rich tonkotsu broth. Pure guilty pleasure, in one bowl. Night 2, also Osaka: chashu mazesoba — a brothless ramen tossed in sweet-spicy sauce, noodles and chashu clinging to every bite. Grabbed a custard taiyaki on the walk back, because after spicy, sweet is non-negotiable. Night 4 in Kobe (slept like a baby on Night 3, no shame): Tokushima ramen — tonkotsu-shoyu broth with pork. Japan's got regional ramen everywhere you go, and this one ranks high on Papa's list. Three bowls, zero regrets.
