A study of the Bhagavad Gita verse-by-verse. In this class, we study verses 2.62 - 2.66. In these verses, Bhagavan teaches how a person who dwells upon sense objects ends up in Spiritual Destruction in eight steps. And therefore, Bhagavan emphasizes the need for Mental and Sensory Restraint. A person equipped with Mental and Sensory restraint, on the other hand, has a mind that is free of Worry, Anxiety, Restlessness, and Preoccupation, and is also free of Conflicts and Stress. Such a mind is tranquil and able to focus, gain Self-Knowledge, and assimilate the Knowledge. On the other hand, a person without Sensory and Mental restraint can never gain this knowledge, much less contemplate, and peace and happiness always remain elusive for him.
