"For these fifteen minutes, lay down the world. You do not have to hold anything up."
Welcome, traveler. Settle flat onto the floor, yoga mat, or bed, and let gravity receive your full weight.
In the contemplative traditions, lying meditation is one of the four classical postures of practice, offering a rare sanctuary to dissolve physical holding while keeping awareness bright, wakeful, and luminous. When the body is exhausted or the nervous system feels overstimulated, trying to hold a rigid seated posture can add unnecessary strain. Lying flat allows the bones and muscles to rest completely without abandoning mindful presence.
In this 15-minute guided session, you will explore:
• Total Somatic Surrender: Softening the heels, hips, shoulders, and skull into the earth like warm wax
• Navigating Sloth and Torpor: Recognizing the line between restful surrender and dull sleepiness, keeping the mind bright and awake
• Subtle Breath Watching: Tracking the faint, natural wave-like rising and falling of the belly without forcing or controlling it
• Releasing Mental Knots: Unclamping the jaw, softening the stomach, and letting lingering worries dissolve into open space
• Gentle Re-emergence: Mindfully transitioning onto the right side before rising with grounded ease
