ABOUT / DESCRIPTION JOHN 6:52–59 KJV | PART 6 | DWELLETH IN ME, AND I IN HIM What does it mean to have eternal life? What does it mean to dwell in Christ, and for Christ to dwell in us? In John 6:52–59, Jesus continues teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum. His words cause the Jews to question among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” But Jesus does not withdraw His teaching. Instead, He declares the necessity of receiving the life that comes through Him. In John 6:54, Jesus says: “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” What a powerful promise! Jesus speaks not only of eternal life but also of the resurrection that awaits those who belong to Him. Then, in John 6:56, He makes this remarkable declaration: “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.” These words reveal the profound relationship between Christ and those who receive Him. He is not speaking merely of earthly bread that satisfies hunger for a moment. He is revealing Himself as the true bread from heaven, the One through whom eternal life is given.
