Unit 2 LO3: Reviewing Performance | OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

This video teaches Learning Outcome 3 of Unit 2, Health and Safety Management Practice, on the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. You will learn how to review the performance of health and safety practices in the workplace. We explain the role of the board and senior management using regulation 5 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, section 37 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, HSE's INDG417 and HSG65, ISO 45001 clause 9.3 and the ILO-OSH 2001 guidelines. We assess the resources and skills a review needs, compare formal and informal reviews, and show how to build action plans, stakeholder communication plans and senior management reports from review findings. We then assess proactive and reactive indicators, calculate frequency and incidence rates, read leading and lagging indicators together using HSG254 dual assurance, and study the BP Texas City refinery explosion of 2005.
