Researchers compared twenty-five middle-aged adults who underwent both hot water immersion at 40 °C and a stationary cycling session to evaluate physiological responses. The findings demonstrated that passive heat therapy triggers greater microvascular blood flow, enhanced vessel widening, and more substantial reductions in blood pressure due to high thermal strain. While the researchers caution that hot water is not inherently superior to working out, these substantial vascular stimuli occur without requiring physical muscle exertion. Consequently, this passive approach may serve as an effective alternative or complementary strategy for individuals who struggle with traditional exercise routines. #health #hotbaths #bloodpressure #vascularhealth #science
