Quill - Okotoks Walmart Strip Mall

Today I had Quill with me at an appointment and was right near this area. I’ve run many tracks here with my GSD Micah. Quill has amazed me with her ability and all she’s remembered from tracking in her first year of life! I occasionally toss her out on a track or trail. Not enough for the intelligence she is showing me - humiliated again! She is a working lines stockdog with great sheep and cattle dogs behind her from Ireland and Texas. I’m finding following her is filling a missing piece for me since losing Micah to cancer. This is UNEDITED. I didn’t plan it and used a glove at the end. She understands tracking but I gave as much line as I could safely so she had freedom to work. Yes it’s a known track. I hope you’ll see I’m doing my best not to influence her as she is making such good decisions! Except around one area with dog marking where I do tell her to get going. Usually my dogs won’t do this and know better. She wasn’t affected by it as she’s a strong minded little thing! The track wasn’t 9 minutes - it was 6.5 minutes to the end. The next part shows her taking me to the car. This is something all my dogs understand as part of tracking or trailing. To “take us home.” Super proud of her work today!
