Hello and Welcome to Deaf Talks News.
Most engineering graduates dream of getting a big IT company and earning a good salary.
But one man did something different. Let me explain.
A man named Vikramdev Mahapatra from Odisha.
He completed his BTech in Electronics and Communication in 2012 from Biju Patnaik University of Technology.
He immediately joined the IT sector.
Over the next 14 years he worked in top IT companies.
Senior positions. Good salary. Successful corporate career.
Vikramdev always had one dream in his heart.
To go back to his home to start his own business.
One day he made the big decision.
He resigned from his well-paying IT job.
He packed his bags and returned to Nabarangpur.
He researched different farming and agri-business opportunities carefully.
After thorough study he chose mushroom farming.
He used his IT background and analytical skills to apply modern technology and systems to farming.
The results were incredible.
Today his farm produces 500 to 600 kilograms of mushrooms every single day.
That is 15 to 18 tonnes of mushrooms every month.
After all expenses and maintenance costs Vikramdev earns a net profit of over 10 lakh rupees every month.
That is more than most senior IT professionals earn.
What is his message to young people?
You do not have to run to big cities to be successful.
With the right planning and the right understanding of market demand you can become a big entrepreneur right in your own hometown.
