Bishop Dag Heward-Mills starts by defining venom - a feeling of bitterness that only needs a drop to change a person, the way a black mamba's venom can kill fifty grown men or wipe out a whole village. He admits that twice in his life people tried to poison him against his mentor Kenneth Hagin with just a few carefully placed words. Then comes the story: a trainee tour guide in Zambia is barely touched by a black mamba during a wildlife class. Nothing seems to happen, so the class carries on. Twenty minutes later he falls off his chair, dead - no bite, just a scratch. The point lands hard: some attacks on your spirit look just as small, and just as fatal, if you don't notice them in time.
