THE SECRET TO LIVING ABOVE DEFEAT | APOSTLE JOSHUA SELMAN

Living above defeat begins with understanding victory in Christ. Apostle Joshua Selman explores resurrection power, renewing your mind and becoming a faithful witness through character and service. In The Power That Works in Us, this Resurrection Sunday message explores Easter's meaning for everyday Christian living. Ephesians 1:19–21 and Ephesians 3:20 frame the teaching on Christ's resurrection and responding with understanding, faith and a surrendered life. Apostle Joshua Selman outlines the gospel of salvation through Christ's incarnation, earthly ministry, death, burial, resurrection and exaltation. He then explores the resurrection's implications: confidence in Jesus, the dependability of His words, participation in His life and victory, and hope beyond death. The message offers encouragement to believers facing uncertainty and comfort to those grieving loved ones in Christ. The practical emphasis is becoming a witness whose life points others to Jesus. Four responses are developed: renewing the mind through God's Word, embracing a changed lifestyle, yielding to the Holy Spirit and desiring Christ's glory beyond personal gain. Confession, guarding your thinking and remembering God's faithfulness are also discussed. Character is central to this teaching. Ephesians 4 connects spiritual growth with truthfulness, honest work, gracious speech, kindness and forgiveness. The message also challenges believers to value creativity, innovation and practical solutions—not limit Christian service to church activities or public demonstrations of power. Joseph and Esther illustrate different expressions of influence and service. IN THIS MESSAGE, YOU WILL LEARN: Why the resurrection anchors Christian faith and hope beyond the grave. How Scripture can reshape your thinking and strengthen your identity in Christ. Why character, forgiveness and responsible conduct matter in Christian witness. How your mind, words, work and abilities can become channels of service. Why living beyond self includes evangelism, generosity and concern for others. The service concludes with prayers for the church, families affected by violence, peace in Nigeria and personal needs, followed by prophetic prayers and an invitation to receive Christ. These prayers and time-specific declarations belong to the original recording. Listen prayerfully, apply one lesson and share with someone who needs encouragement.
