Buses in Limerick | August 2026

A video showing buses in Limerick city (County Limerick), recorded in August 2026. Limerick is a city in the west of Ireland, near the mouth of the River Shannon, and almost halfway between Galway [   • Galway Buses | July 2025  ] and Cork [   • Cork Buses | August 2024  ]. There have been a few changes to the bus network since the last visit in July 2025 [   • Limerick Buses | July 2025  ]. The main change in the last year has been awarding of the route 310 tender to Bus Eireann. During the last visit this was operated by Dublin Coach who were using second-hand Enviro400s on the route. Bus Eireann are using Wrights Electoroliners (EWD Class), the same as the rest of the city fleet. In fact, all Bus Eireann city routes are now operated by the EWD Class, with the final VWL leaving earlier this year. Bus Eireann still operate a series of long-distance and regional routes, using a mixture of different coach types. The LC, LF and VB Classes dominate the regional routes, while the LX and SE Classes operate the Expressway services. During the course of my visit, two private hire-ins on Bus Eireann services were operated by former Bus Eireann coaches (LC 5 and SE12). Both buses still in Expressway livery, but debranded. Dublin Coach continue to operate route 300 between Dublin, Limerick and Ennis / Tralee / Killarney. This company was purchased by Callinan Coaches in October 2025. That same month also saw the start of TFI Anseo services in Limerick. This is a demand-responsive service where passengers book a trip on the bus and are given a pick-up time. Three vehicles from this service feature in this video. Finally, a former Translink Ulsterbus makes an appearance here. It is now with the Irish School of Motoring.
