Oasis Location: Dallas, Texas, U.S.A Venue: Bronco Bowl Date: 31st January 1998 Source: Audience Recording Ending off the month of January, Oasis play at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas, a venue they had once played in 1996. This is one of the smallest venues of the tour, with only 3,500 seats. While Oasis’ tour management never knew what size venues to book in the U.S, and were very hit and miss in different territories, it certainly doesn’t stop the performances as like almost all the shows on the middle of the 1998 American Tour, it’s strong. For once, the sound guy realised that four months into the tour Bonehead needed to be higher up in the sound mix, and he is heard loud and clear throughout this show, making this show sound much more impactful compared to other shows, even if the recording isn’t the best (and some songs are cut) so expect songs like Be Here Now, D’You Know What I Mean and It’s Getting Better (Man!!) to sound very powerful. Noel as per usual is adding in some lovely playing in Stand By Me and Supersonic and delivers an incredible solo in Live Forever, which strays far from the studio version. Liam sounds very good on many of the songs here with the weight of the tour not affecting his voice too much here. While the acoustic set is generally same as it has been for the last week and a half, it is still very enjoyable nonetheless. Though I do feel the set does lack a bit (of course for obvious reasons) it’s still very easily listenable, especially with strong performances like this one night after night. Unfortunately, this quality of performance wouldn’t stay consistent for long as the fatigue of the tour would soon hamper some of these performances.
