How I Created My Dream Peacock Bedroom with Thrifted & Handmade Treasures | Nostalgic Slow Living

This peacock bedroom wasn’t created overnight or as part of a bedroom makeover. It grew naturally over many years, beginning with a pair of exotic bird curtains that once hung in my parents’ home and became part of my own bedroom in my 17th century English cottage. From there, the room slowly evolved. I added thrifted finds, vintage treasures, handmade pieces and family heirlooms, each chosen because I loved them rather than because they matched a trend. Over time, one pair of curtains inspired a room filled with peacocks, birds and beautiful old things. In this video I’m sharing the story behind my English cottage bedroom, from the peacock wallpaper and embroidered bedspread to patchwork curtains, vintage china and the patchwork dress I made from fabric scraps collected over many years. It’s proof that a beautiful home doesn’t have to be expensive when you’re happy to collect slowly, make things by hand and give old treasures a new life.
