A tunnel boring machine (TBM) is a massive piece of equipment that excavates while simultaneously installing the precast concrete tunnel. This week, ‪@GatewayProgram‬’s TBM began its journey beneath the Palisades, advancing construction of new rail tunnels for the Hudson Tunnel Project. The project will strengthen the Northeast Corridor, improving reliability and capacity on one of the nation's most important rail networks.
