Zebra Finch Small Aviary: Chapter 7 Part 4 - Chkekheek chkekheeek At the beginning of this video, you can see a brown munia—specifically, a white-headed munia—featuring a brown body with black markings on its chest. This is one of the birds that local farmers used to catch; when their numbers grew and they were perceived as pests damaging the rice crops, they were captured using large nets. If I recall correctly, we brought this bird here around 2023. It turns out this type of munia can produce a soft, melodious, whistling sound. For the past two years, we have kept this white-headed munia together with zebra finches. It seems to have adapted well and doesn't cause much trouble for the zebra finches—perhaps because it is the only one of its kind. We haven't yet tried housing multiple white-headed munias with the smaller zebra finches. #zebrafinch #birdlife #birdchirping
