【幻の遺構】大島の煙突 6K ドローン空撮 山口県周南市/6K Drone Aerial Video of Oshima's chimney in Yamaguchi Prefecture

周南市大島にそびえ立つ『大島の煙突』は、かつて周南市の産業を支えた日本金属株式会社徳山精錬所(旧鈴木商店亜鉛製錬所)が亜鉛製錬のために建設した赤レンガ製の煙突群です。2つの煙突のうち大きい方の資料しか見付かりませんでしたが、その資料によると約100万個のレンガを7ヵ月かけ積み上げ、1916年(大正5年)に当時、東洋一であった高さ72mの巨大煙突が完成したという事です。しかし、建造から僅か4年後の1920年(大正9年)、第一次世界大戦の影響を受け原料の亜鉛鉱の調達が難しくなった鈴木商店亜鉛製錬所は閉鎖に追いやられ、巨大煙突は幻の産業遺構となりました。2012年(平成24年)には、その景観から大島の煙突群は『ふるさと周南景観特選』の地域遺産に指定されています。 ☆ 少しでも興味を持っていただけたら是非、高評価・チャンネル登録よろしくお願いいたします(^^♪ The "Oshima Chimneys," towering over Oshima Island in Shunan City, are a group of red brick chimneys built for zinc smelting by the Tokuyama Smelting Plant of Nippon Metal Co., Ltd. (formerly the Suzuki Shoten Zinc Smelting Plant), which once supported the industry of Shunan City. Although only records for the larger of the two chimneys could be found, those records indicate that approximately 1 million bricks were laid over a period of seven months, and in 1916 (Taisho 5), the gigantic chimney, which was the tallest in East Asia at the time, was completed at a height of 72 meters. However, just four years after its construction, in 1920 (Taisho 9), the Suzuki Shoten Zinc Smelting Plant was forced to close due to the difficulties in procuring zinc ore, the raw material, caused by the effects of World War I, and the gigantic chimney became a phantom industrial relic.
