Andalusian world music, Arabic, Moorish Lyrics based on ancient poem , written by Lucy, music by Suno May the Rain Bless You An Andalusian adaptation [Intro] (Oud and nay weave an ornate, flowing melody. Gentle hand percussion enters.) [Chorus] May the rain bless you when the heavens flow, O golden days of Al-Andalus. Those days of union, those nights aglow, Still live like dreams inside of us. [Verse 1] When fate brings scattered dreams together, And guides our footsteps through the years, We gather in the springtime weather, With laughter rising, free of fears. The gardens shine beneath the showers, The leaves are dressed in silver light, And smiling lips of fragrant flowers Awake to greet the morning bright. [Pre-Chorus] The heavens pour their crystal water, The garden wears its finest dress, And beauty blooms in every corner, A thousand shades of loveliness. [Chorus] May the rain bless you when the heavens flow, O golden days of Al-Andalus. Those days of union, those nights aglow, Still live like dreams inside of us. [Instrumental Interlude] (Oud and nay trade playful, ornamented phrases over darbuka and riq. A brief string flourish.) [Verse 2] Beneath the stars, the nights were glowing, The secret of our love was sweet, The wine cups danced, the breeze was flowing, And every hour felt complete. The stars leaned low above the garden, The moonlight wandered through the trees, And fortune smiled upon our meeting, While music travelled on the breeze. [Pre-Chorus] There was no fault in that sweet evening, Except it passed too soon away. Just as the sweetest joy was blooming, The morning came to steal the day. The stars grew jealous of our pleasure, Or flowers cast their spell on high, For even heaven seemed to envy The happiness beneath our sky. [Bridge] But let the morning bring its roses, Let golden sunlight fill the air. Some nights are never truly over When beauty leaves its music there. And if the years have carried from us The gardens where we used to roam, The rain still falls, the flowers open, And memory makes the heart its home. [Final Chorus] May the rain bless you when the heavens flow, O golden days of Al-Andalus. Let every garden bloom once more, Let music fill the open doors. Those days of union, those nights aglow, Still live like dreams inside of us. [Outro] (Oud and nay reprise the opening melody. Warm strings and hand percussion fade gently.) May the rain bless you... May the flowers bloom... And may the music never leave us.
